Downtown Core Demolition and HazMat Abatement

Location: Toronto, ON

This project involved abatement and the complete demolition of two office towers and a centre core (stump) at a busy downtown Toronto location.

As this is a high foot traffic area, there was no margin for error. To ensure the safety of the pedestrians we erected covered walkway around the site.

The abatement program included the removal of asbestos, transite and PCBs. An engineer designed shoring system was used to stabilize the Adelaide side of the street.

To meet the client’s needs, we had to adhere to a very tight time frame, which meant we often worked 12 hour days, 7 days a week. One phase of the project was completed a month and a half ahead of time.
